Building Information Modeling (BIM)<\/strong> is one of the most important tools for the digital transition in the construction sector. It is a modern methodology for the design, construction, and management of buildings and technical projects. BIM is based on the creation of a comprehensive digital representation of the physical, technical, and functional characteristics of a project, which serves as a common database throughout all stages of the project for all those involved\u2014architects, designers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturers, contractors, and individuals.<\/p>

Unlike traditional design methods (2D or simple 3D), BIM is not just a three-dimensional model. It is a holistic process that, using multiple CAD software and tools and calculating different parameters, combines geometry, material information, technical characteristics, costs, schedules, and operational data into a single, “smart” digital model.     • 3D BIM:<\/strong> This concerns three-dimensional geometric information and visual representation of the project. It includes the shape, dimensions, and spatial relationship of elements (walls, beams, M\/E installations, etc.).<\/li>
    • 4D BIM – Time:<\/strong> Correlates the 3D model with the construction schedule and planning, allowing the simulation of the project’s progress over time.<\/li>
    • 5D BIM – Cost:<\/strong> Integrates financial information and cost and budget data, providing more accurate costing, management, and real-time expense control.<\/li>

      ELVIAL has a library with a wide range of its products in digital format (BIM objects) in order to support users of BIM methodology in the construction sector. Digital files with the basic typologies of the company’s systems are available to industry professionals (architects, engineers, designers, etc.) who want to specify ELVIAL systems for their projects.<\/p>

      ELVIAL’s digital BIM objects are created using Revit software. They are provided in Revit project (.rvt) file formats. Each .rvt file contains a set of models \u2013 typologies of an ELVIAL system. Each typology is produced and available in a family file (.rfa). ELVIAL’s BIMs are accompanied by a manual (.pdf) with instructions for use and information.<\/p>

      ELVIAL’s<\/strong> library of digital BIM models is available through the ELVIAL Digital Hub<\/strong>.<\/p>

      To access the company’s BIM files, you must first create an account on the Digital Hub.<\/p>

      1. Visit the ELVIAL Digital Hub<\/strong> and create your account.<\/li>
      2. Log in<\/strong> to your account on the ELVIAL Digital Hub.<\/li>
      3. Select the window system<\/strong> you are interested in from the product library.<\/li>
      4. If BIM files are available, on the page of the selected system you will find the tabs “BIM Files”<\/strong> and “BIM Families”<\/strong>, where the corresponding BIM digital models are available, ready for download and integration into your BIM software. Specifically, the BIM Files tab contains .rvt files that include grouped typologies accompanied by the corresponding user manuals. In the BIM Families tab, you can access the specific typology you are interested in (.rfa).<\/li><\/ol>
